This week I went to two events. One was a live performance from Kevin Ross at the W hotel and other was the opening of 2 Chainz restaurant/ lounge Escobar. I had a good time at both. Kevin Ross did a medley of songs in which he included his recent single “Long Song Away”. I didn’t know much about him going in but, he puts on a show, and he gained a fan.
At Escobar there was a decent line to get in but it was a moving line. Upon entry, I was greeted with a shout out from DJ E Sudd, and by daps from artists such as Travis Porter, Greazzy and Cap1 to name a few, artists that i worked alongside with in the studio over the years. I didn’t get a chance to order food from there but the vibe was dope at the spot.
I feel Ronnie Fieg is worth following because I just like his story. He’s started as a stock boy and salesman at his cousins shoes store David Z. He worked his way to creating his own sportswear brand. With countless collaborations later, with other brands such as Asics, Adidas, and Nike, he now has two stores in Manhattan and one in Brooklyn named Kith. He’s working on two more stores currently, one in Miami and the other in Aspen. If you thought that was enough, he has a store called Kith Treats. It a store with well curated cereal combinations. The next time I’m in NY I’m definitely stopping by there.
